Finding The Right Keyboard For Us

By March 3, 2015February 1st, 2023No Comments

People assume that because we’re in a creative field we only use Macs. Well, they’re right – we only use Macs and pretty much anything else Apple makes. To get our work done, we use iMacs, MacBook Pros, iPhones and iPads. Yes, we’re part of the cult of Mac.

But not all our hardware is Apple. We recently started using Kanex’s Multi-Sync Keyboard, and we’re happy we made the switch. We produced a product video for the keyboard last year, and Kanex sent us one to test out and become familiar with so we could write an honest script. It was then that we started to think about making the switch.

At the time, we were using the Apple Wireless Keyboard. It worked well enough, but was limited. For example, it didn’t have a numeric keypad and often disconnected, halting productivity. Not too long ago, we made the decision to switch to Kanex’s Multi-Sync Keyboard. Mainly for the following features:
• full-sized with wireless and connected options
• 3 shortcut bluetooth keys for switching between the Mac, iPhone and iPad
• specialty shortcut buttons specially designed for Macs, like the iOS Device Home Button
• the iPhone/iPad stand that allows for each iOS device viewing

The bluetooth switching between devices is my personal favorite feature. Most times, my set-up consists of my iPhone on the Kanex stand, in front of me on the desk, so when I get a text I love that with a touch of a button I can switch from the iMac to the iPhone and reply to the text from the keyboard.

We wanted to write this blog for anyone looking for a keyboard solution, especially in the creative fields. We’re super happy with our Kanex Multi-Sync Keyboard, for our video production business and personal use.
